Sound Designer, Engineer, Composer & Performer

Theater Work

I’ve been employed by the Netherlands Dance Theater (NDT I) for three seasons as Sound Engineer. Touring internationally and nationally. I’ve seen quite some theaters in quite some countries.
After that I started freelancing. Doing regular projects for Toneelgroep Amsterdam in the seasons 2006-2007 and 2007-2008. Next to that my friends of Remlicht have kept me quite busy with several smaller and bigger gigs at a diverse selection of theaters in the area of my hometown The Hague. Besides that I have been freelancing for the Lucent Dance Theater as well. From Oktober 2008 on I work part-time as sound engineer for Lucent Dans Theater and Dr. Anton Philips Zaal in The Hague. Next to that I still freelance. In the season 2008-2009 I toured with Vaclav Kunes’ ‘Ghost Note‘ for Danshuis Station Zuid from Tilburg.

My main focus is theatersound. I like to do subtle and dynamic performances that don’t cost me my, or the audience’s, hearing abilities.

I’m experienced with most wireless systems and the most common (digital) mixing desks. I love to work with live music in the theater and I also do sound design and sound effects straight from my own studio (for instance for Pedro Goucha’s “Medium Rare”).
